For the most part in History, wheels were made of wood and pushed by animals. In little more than a hundred years, we have gone from the first artisanal assembly workshops to robotised mega-factories, from iron to steel and aluminium. We have stopped turning levers and now ask cars where to go for coffee. Progress is never an upward straight line, but a series of abrupt steps. That is why remaining on the crest of the automotive wave for 70 years is such a feat, especially when geography has placed us at one of the ends of the Eurasian continent.     <\/p>\n<p>Companies like Rub\u00ed Automotive are at the basis of every engineering idea. We build the parts with which engineers and industrial designers manufacture their dreams. What began as an exercise in physical strength with oil presses that rang like bells across the streets of Vitoria, has become a European key player with automated plants and cutting-edge robotics. The vigour is the same, but we can now manufacture each piece much more precisely in a never-ending repetition. They also made parts used in household appliances and the railway sector. More than 18,000 units were built at Imosa until 1960. During the first year, the factory assembled components made in Germany, but, from 1962 onwards, the production was almost entirely done in Spain. Human and artisan strength.<\/h4>\n<p>At the time, production is geared towards supplying the incipient Spanish automobile industry. A new stamping line, the L 0, was created and turning machines were set to the side. Manpower efforts were enormous, with around 25 operators working in each line. As we will see in the following decades, automation radically changed the production system and quality standards in the sector. During these years, three lines were set up at full capacity, in three shifts, with around 250 workers. L1 was opened in 1964. Production is still very diversified in terms of customers and sectors, including food and rail.
