Rubí Automotive is the result of making good technological decisions for over 75 years, some focusing on manufacturing more and others aiming at manufacturing better. We have incorporated increasingly sophisticated technology to perfect each product, process, and service we market to our clients: faster machines, more accurate automation, extra efficient processes, zero-risk security systems for staff, always aiming to improve sustainability and protect the environment. We have learned from the best and incorporated the finest solutions used by those who were ahead of the curve.

However, times are changing. We can now anticipate that we are shaping one of the major projects covered by the 2024-27 Strategic Plan: the creation of our own R&D&I department, a strong unit made up of committed professionals, with enough knowledge and resources to help us face any competitor worldwide. We will become a knowledge-generating company, fulfilling one of the missions set by our founder: leave our mark and make the world a better place.
Although some of the milestones set go beyond this decade, the Strategic Plan details some R&D&I targets (such as reducing the carbon footprint and achieving sustainable development goals).
The R&D&I department will be housed at the Group’s headquarters, in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It will initially consist of ten highly-qualified professionals committed to dealing with the latest technology challenges posed by the industry. Even though not all work programs have been defined, the automation of QA systems using artificial vision, the implementation of 5.0 technologies, or the use of AI in production processes will be particularly important (together with robotics, sensorization, the latest automation systems, digital twins, or smart logistics).
In line with the “Open Innovation” model, this new department will allow Group facilities to increase their presence in high-impact projects, collaborating with other technological actors to strengthen synergies and attract new talent. Rubí aims to foster research, improve competitiveness and develop state-of-the-art technologies that bring added value to its processes, products and services.
The heart and essence of the physical and human resources allocated to the R&D&I department will allow us to face future challenges.
